Golden Harvest Restaurant is a compact, no-frills brunch and breakfast spot tucked along Turner Road in Lansing. Its small size means seating is limited and the vibe is cozy but a bit tight, lending itself well to solo diners, pairs, or small groups who don’t mind a busy, close-quarters atmosphere. The restaurant embraces a kind of rebellious, independent spirit visible in its wall art and handwritten menu boards, which convey a casual, lived-in feel rather than polished formality.

The menu is broad but focused on hearty, comfort-forward dishes with some creative twists—think omelettes loaded with interesting fillings like their B L T version, and indulgent takes on French toast such as caramelized apple or banana pudding styles. There’s a playful streak too, with sandwiches like the Bubba or the “Killer Sandwich,” and sides ranging from traditional home fries to jalapeño cheddar varieties. The kitchen tends to take its time, so diners should be ready for waits that can stretch close to an hour during busy times, particularly weekends.

Golden Harvest feels like a spot for those who appreciate good breakfast classics with a bit of attitude and flair — it’s not polished or quiet, but that imperfect buzz fits its downtown Lansing location well. The crowd tends to be local regulars and brunch seekers who don’t mind a cash-only policy (Venmo accepted) and a place that doesn’t cater to families with young children—there are no kids’ options and some of the décor carries adult-themed stickers and jokes, making it more suited to adults and older teens.

Visitors enamored with straightforward, bold-flavored morning fare will find much to enjoy here—a thick biscuit smothered in sausage gravy or a spicy chorizo burrito come highly recommended. The service is warm and attentive, with staff clearly familiar to returning guests. Given the acoustics and cozy size, it might not be the best spot for long conversations, but it is a dependable choice for a solid and inventive breakfast when you’re in the mood for something beyond your usual diner fare.

If you’re passing through Lansing on a weekday morning or an early weekend brunch hour and have the time to savor your meal, Golden Harvest offers a genuine local breakfast experience with a dash of Lansing’s independent character.

Very cool little spot, and it is very little. We got there right when they opened and when they opened the doors they already had our table ready with waters which was nice. The atmosphere is cool, though definitely some stickers and things on the walls that aren't appropriate for young kids. We didn't mind too much but I'm sure some parents would not be comfortable. No kids options either though we just had ours split one plate.

I love the spot. Anytime I come through the city and I’ve got time when they are open I always stop. Friendly staff, fantastic food. Highly recommended. I’ll be back. Good to see you guys again. Today I had biscuits and gravy and a Polish scramble. Biscuits and gravy of course are fantastic. Polish scrambles also great. Bring cash.

Fact. Golden Harvest is easily the best breakfast spot in Lansing. Hard to choose from their eclectic menu, but we went with a spinach and artichoke omelet and the banana pudding French toast. Both were fabulous. Our server was a peach. Also fact. Not sure I'd return. We waited well over an hour for our food. And the acoustics are such that you can't carry on a conversation. But I'm glad I had the experience.

Admittedly not for everyone, the kitsch and the independent nature of Golden Harvest staff make it a place embracing of all. And their food is to die for! From the usual breakfasts to fusion dishes, it is always well thought out and perfectly executed. The Gilgeori Toast was the best I’ve had outside Korea, and the chef pulled a couple of nifty tricks to make this stand out.

New go-to spot in Lansing for brunch! The place is small and tight with limited seating and a no nonsense tone. Menu options are all $15, handwritten on white boards. CASH OR VENMO ONLY! We got the Irish scramble, the “suck it” omelette and the cinnamon crunch French toast. The food took a little under an hour to come out but we were anticipating this having read other google reviews before showing up. The staff kept checking in with hot coffee so we did not feel ignored or forgotten. Everything was great and the worth was absolutely worth it. Each dish was thoughtfully balanced and generously portioned. Huge selection of hot sauces. I’d recommend any of the three dishes we tried and the staff recommended the biscuits and gravy and the shrimp and grits. Dreaming of our next visit!

Genuinely the best breakfast spot I’ve been to in so long—and the best in Lansing by far. Although we expected to wait based on reviews and how small the joint is, we were immediately seated & got our food quickly with incredible service. Highly recommend the Butter-Face Omelette!

AMAZING find. I love the food here, great and interesting menu, FRIENDLY service, and super fun decor. It’s a pretty small space, so be prepared to wait for a table and also for your food. We waited about an hour for our food but it was well worth it. 100% will recommend but make sure you are ready for the wait and that you’ve nothing to get to. Just chill and enjoy great breakfast vibes. Also, I’m a crazy nut for biscuits and gravy and the biscuit here is to die for. Amazing sausage gravy too. SO delicious. I got the north and south platter (can’t remember the exact name) but it’s biscuits with poutine. That beef gravy was out of this world. Wow!

When I tell you this place is serving up some of the most AMAZING food in the area, I MEAN IT! And for those that say " well its a long wait" I say " good things come to those who wait " the atmosphere is indescribable " now back to the food!!! Some of if not THE BEST I've ever had! See the pictures.
